Dear April,
It is I who must thank you and your sister for moving me to tears with
your beautiful music and your passion for playing it. Plato's words
describe far more perfectly than I am able just how I feel about
music: "“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight
to the imagination, and life to everything". As a musician and
passionate music lover all of my life (I have been on this earth for
71 years and some odd months) I can hardly believe the state we are in
today and how difficult it is for me to be optimistic. A mad world,
indeed. However ... When I see young people like you and Hannah using
your talents to specifically give back to others who are, how shall I
say ... not so young ☺, I am filled with optimism. I read an interview
in which you said that, "We think that our music can light up people’s
lives and connect us all.”. Rest assured that you are doing that and
so much more and know that I am so very grateful for the gift of your
and Hannah's efforts. May you never lose that passion and purpose.
With sincere appreciation,
Francis Schilling
